First-time setup guide

This page is written for a new customer who has just bought FlowPress and wants to get to a successful first campaign quickly.

Step 1 — Install and activate

1. Upload the FlowPress plugin into WordPress and activate it.
2. Open the FlowPress menu in the admin area and review the Overview screen.

Step 2 — Configure sender details

1. Open Settings.
2. Set the default From Name and From Email.
3. Connect SMTP for dependable delivery if you have not already.

Step 3 — Set your preferences page

1. Create a public Manage Preferences page.
2. Place the preferences shortcode on that page.
3. Save the page URL into FlowPress settings.

Step 4 — Build forms and start audience capture

1. Create at least one signup form.
2. Place the shortcode on a public page.
3. Submit a test signup.

Step 5 — Prepare templates and content

1. Review the Templates area.
2. Create or select a campaign template.
3. Check placeholder tags.

Step 6 — Send a test campaign

1. Create a campaign.
2. Choose the audience.
3. Preview the content and links.
4. Send a test email first.
